The macadamia nut has a fascinating history in Hawaii. Originally from Australia, the macadamia was brought to Hawaii at the end of the 19th century. There it was successfully cultivated by William Purvis, a botanist. The macadamia trees thrived particularly well on the volcanic soils of the islands. In the following years, different varieties were bred in order to achieve the optimum taste and the best adaptation to the climatic conditions. Today, Hawaii is one of the world's leading producers of macadamia nuts, and the nuts are an important economic factor for the islands.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT OUR HAWAII MACADAMIA

We roast the macadamias here in Seevetal using a gentle process without oil. Roasting in a kettle makes our nut kernels particularly crunchy.

We offer Hawaii macadamis in the InSalt and NoSalt varieties. Both varieties are roasted, which emphasizes their mild, tasty nutty aroma. Our InSalt macadamias are roasted in our own kettle with sea salt. The salt gets directly into the nut - for aromatic enjoyment and clean fingers when snacking!
